Sanitas Health Cover - Marbella
Is your health covered?
A growing number of Britain’s are discovering to their horror, that if they become seriously ill, they are not entitled to medical care here or back in Britain.
Prior to retirement age (60 for Women or 65 for Men) you can apply for an E106 form, this gives British Citizens who have moved to Spain ‘residual health care’ on the Spanish health service funded by the UK government for up to the first two years living in Spain (the time depends on tax and NI contributions) After retirement age the E121 form can be obtained, giving health entitlement on the same basis as a Spanish person.
What happens if you are diagnosed with a health problem during your cover with the E106, and then your cover runs out? The answer is you will find yourselves billed for all costs. You may well decide to return to the UK, however if you have been outside of the UK for over 3 months, and took the E106, you are no longer eligible for Health Care under the NHS unless you can prove that you are repatriating to the UK, this can take up to 6 months and will need proof such as taking out a Mortgage in the UK.
Answer: Apply for full Health Insurance whilst still fit and healthy, as no Insurer will accept you once you have a health problem, or will exclude the problem already in existence. Alternatively you will need to pay our Social Security in Spain, but this can only be done if employed or registered as Self Employed.
The old E111 now the NHIC card is only available from the UK if you are still paying National Insurance Contributions, and is only to be used abroad for emergencies. If you require on going treatment you will find yourself being billed for the medical services.
Contact your English Sanitas Agent for a no obligation quote. Different types of cover to suit all budgets.

Osteoporosis treatment at Bodyworks Marbella
Osteoporosis treatment at Bodyworks Physiotherapy Clinic Marbella.
Osteoporosis (literally meaning porous bones) and also known as Brittle Bone Disease is a disorder of the skeleton. The National Osteoporosis Society states that mainly as a result of osteoporosis, 1 in 5 men over the age of 50 will break or fracture a bone against 1 in 2 women. Osteoporosis is regarded as a “silent illness” as many people do not know they have this condition until it is too late. If you do suffer from osteoporosis, bones become very brittle, fracture very easily and unfortunately, medication to help combat osteoporosis is harsh and the side effects can be unpleasant. Using a derivative of MRI scanner technology and by means of a world wide patented complex system of air-cored magnetic coils and radio frequencies, German scientists and researchers have now found it possible to transfer pulsed magnetic resonance energy into the bone cells (and cartilage cells), forcing these into re-growth, increasing and enhancing bone density. A number of scientific, double blind, placebo controlled and randomised tests, documented research and clinical trials have shown that this technology can naturally stimulate the bone osteoblast cells aiding in the re-growth of bone with improvements of up to 60% being shown. At last, a drug free and a surgical free alternative to osteopenia, osteoporosis, arthritis of the joints, to ligament or tendon problems and to spinal disc problems by treating the cause, not the outcome.

Pure-Col Marbella - Spain
Strengthen your joints and lose those wrinkles!
Pure-Col has been building an enviable reputation in the UK for the past few years, now this fantastic product is widely available on the Costa del Sol. Michael Carter, Director of Pure-Col Spain, describes how he discovered the product,
“I have always been aware of the benefits of collagen and as I get older I have noticed after playing tennis and football, the aches and joint pain take longer to mend. The more I researched collagen, the more I found that there are many different grades and types, and that lots of collagen products on the market simply do not do what they are supposed to.” Pure -Col is the only collagen product with a unique process called Amino Lock, which means up to 90% of the collagen is ingested and made bio available to the body. Becky Lynne, Britain’s female athlete of the year 2006, actively promotes Pure-Col as it has made a huge difference to her maintaining peak fitness. Pure-Col is not only beneficial for our joints, the product also has the benefit of enhancing the skin, as collagen deficiency is the top cause of wrinkles and ageing skin. Pure-Col is available in many outlets on the coast, stockists include gymnasiums, physiotherapists, chiropractors and beauty salons.

Happy Christmas to everyone!
Wow! I can't believe it's December already (well! January almost!) and I'd like to apologise for my lack of blogging over the latter part of the summer period.
I've been busy teaching my courses of Reflexology, Anatomy and Physiology and Massage in the Marbella Beauty Academy. The courses are going really well and the new courses in each of the subjects are ready to begin enrolment in January, so all very exciting!
If you wish to have more information about these or any of the other short courses available, then please don't hesitate to contact me by email ajp17@hotmail.com or telephone 607596836.
Aside from that, we've finally become 'coasties' at last and have moved near to Estepona. So house move, teaching, visitors, family and private clients, have all kept me very busy indeed.
My promise to you all (and to myself!) is that I'll keep up my regular blogging in 2010, bringing you the latest updates from the world of health, fitness and nutrition, in easy usable snippets. Although, they may rather brief around the April/May time, as that's when I'm due to give birth to my second baby! So I hope you'll forgive me that!
Please keep emailing me your questions and comments. They're all appreciated and welcomed.
Enjoy the rest of your Christmas holidays!
Amanda
